"Whichever Universal Hardwood floor you choose, you can be sure of one thing: You'll own a floor created by nature and crafted using the very best technology, with total respect for the environment."

Reclaimed Wood

Reclaimed wood has been taken from long-standing idle buildings and refinished for new purposes. Our reclaimed flooring and decking has been rescued from old buildings, barns, piers and other structures. Many of our products come from century-old factories built during the Industrial Revolution using 300 to 400 year old wood and fascinating historical structures in other countries, including oak from the original Keller Furniture Manufacturing Company, Corydon, Indiana.
By reclaiming the wood, Universal Hardwood not only creates beautiful flooring, but we also help preserve historically significant artifacts that would have otherwise been destroyed .

Sinker Pine Woods

The procurement, manufacturing, history and beauty of the "sinker" comes from logs that were cut in the late 1800's as southern timber barons cut the virgin timber in the central counties of Florida. Today, they make magnificent flooring with a history.

Finishing up : Ecologically Friendly Finishes

Beyond the application of stain and/or sealer, it's essential to apply a finish to protect the wood. The choice depends on the type of wood, desired results, color and grain pattern.

Water-based : Lets the natural color of the wood come through. Because they are water-based, they are considered environmentally responsible.

Tung Oil: Waterlox’s exclusive process takes t ung oil, r esin, mineral spirits, and other ingredients to produce a complete wood finish that gives you the look and feel of a naturally-oiled wood, with the additional benefit of forming a surface that is waterproof, stands up to foot traffic, and protects against household spills.  Like pure tung oil, Waterlox is easy to apply, repair, and re-coat when necessary.

Ceramic: WEARMAX is a space-age ceramic finish representing a dramatic leap forward in wear resistance technology. The most durable wood floor finishes on the planet. WEARMAX is based on the same materials used for the ceramic nose shield protecting NASA shuttle astronauts during their 17,500-mph re-entries. A thin layer of UV hardened WEARMAX finish provides crystal clear protection for your floor preserving the natural beauty and character that only real hardwood floors exemplify.

HURRAH FOR ROLLYWOOD!

The Thermowood Collection, the next generation of wood

hANdwerk from Austria offers custom wood floors that can be rolled out like an area rug. Solid wood planks are attached to foam backing that hold floor tightly in place. No glue or nails needed! The best part is the floor can be rolled back up when you move!  Available in ash, beech and maple and in kiefer, ash or teak for outdoor decks, saunas or showers.

Thermo wood solid wood flooring is completely innovative and beautiful beyond imagination…the haute couture of wood flooring. Transformed and strengthened by a carefully measured heating process, these solid wood floors are both exquisite and tough. This thermal process, practiced by the Vikings to increase the durability and longevity of their ships, renders the wood moisture, mold and mildew resistant.

Industry works with nature to create a work of art

Nothing adds more to the beauty of a space than the introduction of natural elements. Industrial Designer Parquet floors are made from parts of the tree that are mostly ignored, showing off the full spectrum of color variation and pattern. Industrial Designer Parquet is made with non-toxic, natural materials.
